The Guardian Equipment G1522 self-contained eye wash and drench hose unit is ideal where a continuous supply of potable water is not available or in low traffic or low hazard areas where installation of plumbed equipment is not cost effective. This unit features a 15 gallon stainless steel pressurized tank with built-in carrying handles, air intake fitting, pressure gauge and pressure relief valve. The eye wash assembly features GS-Plus spray heads with flip-top dust covers, internal flow control and filter. The 6' reinforced PVC drench hose has a self-closing valve with squeeze handle and a single GS-plus spray head. The unit discharges approximately 0.7 GPM for the ANSI-required 15 minutes when using the eye wash or drench hose. An ANSI-compliant identification sign is also included. In use, fill the tank with clean potable water and add the supplied bacteriostatic additive which provides against the growth of bacteria, fungus, algae and acanthamoeba. After filling, simply pressurize to 80 PSI . Eye wash stations should be flushed weekly with a 15 second flush to ensure proper operation. The small amount of test water used each week can be replaced with clean potable water without having to add more Aquasep. After 6 months the eyewash unit should be completely emptied and recharged with fresh water and Aquasep. The empty weight is 28 lbs and the filled weight is 134 lbs.
